Reinis Jaunais - Dance Epidemic (Dejas epidēmija) feat. Balázs Dankó & Ieva Supjeva

This is a music video for our song Dance Epidemic (Dejas epidēmija). The video is made by Laima Jaunā. It was lots of fun filming this video and walking around the hood with my green suite on in various hoods in Riga, such as Ziepniekkalns, Imanta, Āgenskalns and elsewhere in Pārdaugava - those are hoods I grew up. Featuring artists are violin player Balázs Dankó (Hungary) and flute player Ieva Supjeva (originally from Latvia, currently living in Belgium). However, they didn't participate in video filming as they couldn't come to Riga due to travel restrictions. Song is named after the Dance Epidemic, also known as Dancing Plague or Dancing Mania. According to Wikipedia, it ''was a social phenomenon that occurred primarily in mainland Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. It involved groups of people dancing erratically, sometimes thousands at a time. The mania affected men, women, and children who danced until they collapsed from exhaustion and injuries. One of the first major outbreaks was in Aachen, in the Holy Roman Empire (in modern-day Germany), in 1374, and it quickly spread throughout Europe; one particularly notable outbreak occurred in Strasbourg in 1518 in Alsace, also in the Holy Roman Empire (now France). Affecting thousands of people across several centuries, dancing mania was not an isolated event, and was well documented in contemporary reports. It was nevertheless poorly understood, and remedies were based on guesswork. Often musicians accompanied dancers, due to a belief that music would treat the mania, but this tactic sometimes backfired by encouraging more to join in.'' We thought that these cases fit well with the current (or recent) lock-down and stuff. :) Anyway, shall we make behind the scenes video? We got some funny raw footage. Let us know in comments!
